We stayed at Black Rock canyon campground which is in the high desert at 4000 feet elevation. The air was very dry. Just like the rest of this National Park the campground is loaded with Joshua trees. In fact it was very difficult to maneuver our 5th wheel into a campsite even though we were assigned a pull-through spot that was available for large RV's. We even scrapped up against a cement picnic table trying to avoid one of the Joshua trees.
Sue and I took a day trip to different area's of the park and we did a lot of hiking.
From areas in the campground you could see into the the Yucca valley from some of the surrounding hills. It was quite breath taking.
At night we could hear the coyotes after the sun set when the moon would rise and they would also howl right before the sun would rise.
We hiked up to a top of mountain in Joshua Tree National Park and you could look down and see Palm Springs and the San Andreas Fault.
More hiking.
We found some petroglyphs on our hike.
Sue receiving a text on our hike from Pamela. What would we do without our technology?
Lots of rocks and Joshua trees.

Cool trees and what a neat place to hike! It's amazing how much different landscape and scenery is in our country.
