There were several trails to choose from from "easy" to "difficult" We chose a 2.6 mile easy trial but we did not realize there was about a 1/2 mile plus moderate spur trail we had to take first to get to the easy trail. It was pretty warm, low 80's but the sun is pretty strong down here. We had some really nice views from these trails.
After our hike we went over to another section of the park where they had a small rodeo setup and people were practicing and competing. They had a course setup and the riders were timed running their horse through the course while shooting at balloons. Best time for the course was the objective.
Wayne asked one of the cowboys what was in their guns that they shot at the balloons. We knew they did not use bullets cause they might strike us watchers in the stands but we would see the balloons break. Turns out the blanks in their guns shoot out black powder and the embers is what break the balloons. Of course these competition blanks are carefully manufactured to be uniform in performance since they are used at rodeo competitions world wide.
Below is a little girl getting her chance to try out the course. Her gun was just a toy.
Wayne and Nancy then told us they wanted to take us to a BBQ place for dinner. They drove us over to Dillons KC BBQ
This restaurant is right next to the "Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium. Not only is the BBQ food outstanding but you are dining with the sharks as there is a huge aquarium inside the restaurant
Another section of the restaurant over looked an area that contained lots flamingos.
We had a great time seeing the sharks and flamingos and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious BBQ. Thank you Wayne and Nancy for taking us there!

oh man! A rodeo, aquarium restaurant, and zoo? I so wish we were there to have fun with you guys! I am ready to go do something fun now (and see you soon too!).
