Harvest Host - Messina Hof Winery and visiting Lynda

Our friends Dale and Cheryl Curtis signed up for a program called Harvest Hosts.  From their Web site:
Harvest Hosts®a network of wineries, farms and agri-tourism sites that invite self-contained RVers to visit and stay overnight for free!
Harvest Hosts provides the opportunity to travel to new areas, have unique experiences and enjoy purchasing locally grown and produced products.

Dale had called Messina Hof Wineries and found out we could stay at their winery for 1 night. This worked out perfect for our trip to Austin as a good stopping point.

We got a tour of their winery store and we got to sit out on their patio under a pergola to enjoy the afternoon.

Dale and Cheryl sampled some of their wines.

Below is the area we were allowed to park overnight on their property for free as part of the Harvest Host program.

We may consider signing up for Harvest Hosts in the future if we do a lot more traveling as this is economical and educational opportunity to visit interesting sites.

The next day we headed to Austin and we got to visit with Sue's friend Lynda Aird who moved from Warrenville, Illinois to Lago Vista, a northwestern suburb of Austin. We met Lynda at a golf country club and she paid for our dinner. We then went back to her town home to catch up. We had a very good visit.
