met up with my cousin Jenice and her husband Gary. - Ankeny, Iowa

While we were camping just north of Des Moines we had arranged to meet up with my cousin Jenice and her husband Gary for Thursday and Friday. They stayed at a campsite a couple of sites down from us in their "new to them" Class C motor home they had a just acquired a week before. Jenice uses the motor home to travel and stay at her mom's farm in Staton Iowa each week for her traveling nursing job.
They bought us steaks at a local butcher that we cooked out on our grill for Thursday evening. Sue said they were the best steaks she ever ate. On Friday they took us to their local Costco, Trader Joes and Jason's Deli for lunch. I had the "all you could eat" salad buffet and Sue had a turkey sandwich with avocado. This deli is very popular in the Des Moines area and was very crowed for lunch.
We then went back to our campsite in Cherry Glen where we grilled turkey burgers and brats for dinner.
We had such a great time catching up with Jenice and her husband Gary. It had been almost 10 years since I had last seen Jenice. We will definitely have to stay in touch with them and hopefully meet up with them again soon.

  1. wow, neat to see some more extended family members and how they have some of the same characteristics!
