wrapped up our week in Sutherlin, Oregon

For the first time since we began our 9+ month RV adventure we were able to stop for 7 days in one spot and make this area a base camp for us to use while taking day trips to other sights we wanted to see. We picked this campground Timber Valley in Sutherlin, Oregon because it is an Escapees "SKP" park which means is privately owned by the Escapees club residents but is open to all Escapees when there are campsites not being used. Sue and I have been members of the Escapees RV club for over 2 years and so I was interested in seeing one of their parks and beside we were able to get a very good discount on our stay.

There was a lot of wild life here is the campground each day. We saw deer

quail and we heard there were occasionally bears and cougars at night but we did not see any of those and we were glad.

I also visited a salmon fish ladder.

I only saw a couple smaller salmon because they actually have not started their big migration up river yet to spawn.

A picture of the Umpqua River that the salmon travel up stream to spawn each year.

We found a very nice church on Sunday morning in Sutherlin to attend and they even invited us to the pot luck they just happened to be having this Sunday. The message was very good and the people very warm and friendly.
