rode the High Trestle Trail - Ankeny, Iowa

This year on our annual bicycle trip with our good friends Bob & Kathy Clapper and Greg & Candy Mrumlinski we decided to ride some trails just North of Des Moines Iowa in the suburb Ankeny Iowa.

There is an old railroad bed that has been converted into what is now called the High Trestle Trail. What you see below is the High Trestle Bridge that overlooks a very scenic view of the river and water shed.

At night they light up this bridge that is a sight to be seen though Sue and I did not make it back Saturday night to see this.

This is one of the best bicycle trails we have ever rode. Relatively flat and mostly a nice wide and paved trail. We rode 25 miles on Saturday and 13 miles on Sunday in the other direction.
